MyPlace Biographies

Paige Georget McMan Success Coach

Hello all, here a few things
about myself. I was born and
raised in a small town, Kyle
Saskatchewan. I moved to
Medicine Hat in 2002 and took
the Social Work Diploma program
at Medicine Hat College. I then
worked for two years with adults
with disabilities. I have been
working at McMan Youth, Family,
and Community Services now for
2.5 years as a Youth Worker.
I am looking forward to working
with the students and teachers at
Alexandra Middle School as a
Success Coach for the MyPlace
Project.
In my spare time I enjoy playing
sports, being outside, and
spending time with my family and
friends.

Karli Brown McMan Success Coach

My name is Karli Brown and this
year I am joining the team at
CHHS as a success coach. I am
originally from Saskatchewan and
I received my Child and Youth
Care Diploma from the Lethbridge
College a few years ago. I have
had experience working with youth
in many different ways from being
the Youth Director at the YMCA to
working in the Turning Points
program at St Louis school last
year. Something interesting about
me is that I have a twin sister
and she is also a new staff
member at CHHS this year!!

Jenna Bentley Mental Health

Jenna moved to Medicine Hat from
Saskatoon in 2004. She received
her Social Work Degree from the
University of Regina and has been
working at Community Mental
Health Services since graduation.
This is Jenna's 4th year as the
Mental Health Consultant for AJHS.

Jenna has a passion for working
with children and youth. During
her spare time, she enjoys
spending time with family and
friends and frequently goes home
to Saskatoon. Jenna also enjoys
movies, camping, scrapbooking,
shopping and her dog Cooper! She
is excited to be a part of the
new MyPlace project and looks
forward to the school year.

Jessica Nixion AADAC

Jessica Nixon is the AADAC Youth
Addictions Counsellor with
District 76, with a featured
connection in the MyPlace
project. This means that she is
available to speak to students
who are experiencing struggles as
result of their own or someone
elses alcohol, drug, or tobacco
use, and/or gambling behavior.

Jessica is excited to work within
the field of addictions in
Medicine Hat, after working for
five years with at-risk, street-
involved, and exploited youth in
a Calgary residential program.
Jessica moved from Calgary to
Medicine Hat in 2007 to help her
husband Liam pursue his
broadcasting career, and has been
enjoying the city and the people
ever since. When not working with
AADAC, Jessica is a full-time
Social Work student with the
University of Calgary, pursuing
her second degree. In the spare
time she does have, Jessica loves
to be involved with anything
concerning food: looking for
recipes, using new cooking
technique/toys, developing her
palette, finding great
restaurants and eating
(especially eating). She also
enjoys spending time with
friends, travelling to warm
destinations (and Calgary to see
family), having board game
nights, laughing, and dancing.
