The poetry project is due on Monday, April 30th. Please see the Important pieces of paper section for the project outline. There will also be a short poetry response quiz that day. In social studies, the map project is due tomorrow. The assessment guide is also in the important papers section. A reminder that the Chapter 10 quiz is on Wednesday. We will be reviewing in class together tomorrow.

Today in Language Arts we finished our Dictionarys. If you are not done your dictionary, it is for homework. In social studies, we read Two provinces in the West and created a T-chart. If you have a textbook at home then get it back soon.

We had our chapter 9 S.S test today. and the chapter projects our due Monday.
7A and 7E: Bring your final, good copy of persuasive speeches Wednesday. These will be handed in for marking. You have a little quiz about persuasive speeches on Monday.

Today in Language Arts we worked on our speeches. Rough copy is due on Friday, March 23. The Giver final projects are overdue. In Social Studies, we worked on our Chapter 9 booklets. The chapter 9 quiz is next Friday, March 30th, so make sure you study! Have a good night Gators!

For Language Arts homework tonight 7B must complete the concept map (it was due today) and the 1st draft of the 1st paragraph for their speech. Anyone not finished will be staying in at nutrition break and after school to finish.
In Language Arts today, we drew a picture about something that we want most in the world right now, and watched some videos on how to write persuasive speechs and took notes on it. Social Studies was devoted to creating a political cartoon for an important person, issue, or event in Chapter 8. The homework for tonight is the politicial cartoon due tomorrow. Today in Language Arts we went through our portfolios and we started up on our final projects for 'The Giver'. The Giver project is due Monday March 19th. No class time will be provided. In Social Studies we worked on our booklets. For homework we have to catch up on our social studies booklets. Chapter 8 quiz is on March 14th.

Today in Language Arts, we read 'The Giver' chapters 16-19. In Social Studies, we read about the events that led up to the Métis Red River Resistance of 1869 and filled in the timeline in the 2nd booklet Mrs. Adamson gave us. The Giver project chapters 8-15 is due tomorrow. Other than that, there is no homework!

Today we worked on the social studies workbook. If you are not finised, it needs be done for Monday. In LA we read The Giver, chapters 11 to 15. Mrs. Adamson gave us some homework on report card notes. These need to be handed in on Monday. We have to choose what to do for a summary project in LA for the Giver to summarize chapters 8-15. The choices are below. We will not get any classtime to work on them. These are due Tuesday.

Today we started on a new booklet in Social Stuidies for Chapter 8. This is NOT for homework. The Metis title page is overdue. Also today we read Chapters 8,9,10, of The Giver. If you didn't finish the Chapters 1-7 review both sides are for homework.

Today in Language Arts, we did a review of 'The Giver' chapters 1-7. Both sides of the handout are for homework, due tomorrow. Social Studies was focused on making our title page for chapter 8 'The Métis' by skimming through the chapter and finding key events. The following need to be on your poster :

Today was amnisty day where students were given the chance to complete unfinished or missing work. While students who completed all assingments were wacthing a movie. Any assignments that are not completed are strictly due after the break :P

Hey all of you crazy Gators! Today in Social Studies, we finished up our Chapter 7 review booklets, started our 'Dawn of Dominion' mini-project, and for some people who are super speedy, got to the 'Winter Count' mid-term project based on the 7 chapters that we studied leading up to Confederation.
In Language Arts, we started working on our chapters 1-7 summary project which is due on Thursday.
The Dawn of Dominion project is due tomorrow. The Winter Count is due on Friday. Just a reminder that the Chapter 7 Social Studies quiz is on Wednesday!

In Language Arts we read chapter 7 of The Giver and discussed the freedoms we can enjoy as kids and the responsibilities we look forward to as adults. We also discussed how it feels when something we are looking forward to with great anticipation doesn't go as we think it should. We predicited why Jonas was skipped.
In social studies we looked at how the delegates from the Atlantic provinces and Canada came together in Charlottetown and Quebec City to work out the details of forming a united Canada. We completed most of the review booklet.

Hey Gators! Today in Social Studies we worked on part 2 of our reveiw booklets and in Language Arts we reveiwed chapters 5 and 6 by working on our word wall and answering questions. For homework we have to finish our Golden Age page in our Social Studies booklet as well as the Maritime acrostic poem. Nothing for LA! Funny question. . . did the apple turn into a banana?

Today we finished our review booklet on the first half of Chapter 7. If you didn't finish the last page it is for homework. Today we also looked at how the Americans had a civil war, between the North and South. The colonies in British North America helped the north, but the British helped the South because they supplied them with cotton. In Language Arts we read Chapters 5 and 6 of The Giver.

Today we looked at the British colonies shifting trade partners, which included Britain and the United States in Social Studies. We used the Cornell notes in Language Arts to review chapters 3 and 4 of the Giver. We considered the different rules that govern our lives. There is no homework tonight.

Today we reviewed mercantilism in social studies. We read chapters 3-4 of The Giver. Students were given the oppurtunity to rewrite their chapter 6 test, during nutrition break on Monday , Tuesday, and Wednesday. No homework this weekend.

Social Studies Persuasive Paragraph - students must complete a paragraph which clearly supports their opinion as to whether or not Canada West should be granted representataion by population.
Also, I'm am offering students the opportunity to use nutrition breaks next week to make corrections on last week's social studies quiz in an effort to improve their mark.
