I am a graduate of Auburn University in Merchandising and also a
graduate of UAB in Elementary Education. This will be my 8th year teaching
4th grade at Bessemer Academy. I really do love teaching this grade level.
I have had other jobs, but none I have ever enjoyed as much as teaching.
On a personal note, my husband and I have been happily married for 26
years and we are both graduates of BA. We are members of Bellview Baptist
Church in McCalla. My husband is Director of the I.T. Department at
Colonial Properties in Birmingham. We have one son, Nicholas,who is also
graduate of BA.
Bessemer Academy is very special to me and my husband and to our
families. We both started BA the year it was founded in 1970. We have
wonderful memories of the school, the faculty, and fellow classmates. GO
REBELS!!!!

My goal is to provide meaningful learning experiences for my students. I
strive to challenge my students to think and create in different ways. I
encourage them to stretch themselves in new ways and to strive toward
excellence.
We will explore our curriculum in many ways and it is my hope my students
develop the desire and skills to be life long learners.
