Thanks to all of you for the gift cards to Red Lobster and Target! I really
appreciate all of the acts of kindness! The kids seemed to really enjoy
themselves at the Christmas party! I was so proud of their puppet shows and
songs! Aren't they talented? I love all of them so much!
ATTENTION: PLEASE MAKE SURE TO SEND IN HATS, GLOVES AND COATS WHEN THERE IS A
CHANCE OF SNOW! IF IT IS LIGHT SNOW, WE MIGHT GET TO GO OUT FOR A FEW MINUTES
IF EVERYONE HAS WARM CLOTHING!!
FYI..... The second grade will be collecting NEW stuffed
animals for the Police Dept. to give to children in need.Our goal is 100 to
represent the 100th day of school, but more will be even better. WE are
actually going to ask the whole school to help us with this project.If you
could send in just 1, that would be super!
Reading- We are in Unit 3 called, "Around the Town." THIS WEEK, WE WILL NOT
HAVE A NEW IMAGINE IT STORY or HOMEWORK DUE TO A SHORT WEEK for Jan. 6-8,so
let your child work on mastering math facts and taking the Think Link Tests.

Math-We will be completing/reviewing geometry this week as well as working on
regrouping with addition with 2/3 digit numbers. Students who have not
mastered their addition/subtraction facts will be completing extra worksheets
at home each week until the facts are mastered.
Spelling- No test this week! Enjoy!!!
Language-DOL Week #19/Students will also be writing narratives about a
special memory or fun activity they engaged in over the break. They will also
be learning how to write a friendly letter and address an envelope. Please
send in 2 white, mailing envelopes with postage stamps already on each one.
Each student will be mailing 2 letters. If you can send extra, that would be
great!!!
Science-We will be learning about types of landforms.
Social Studies- Students will be reviewing map skills and sending off FLAT
STANLEY PEOPLE, flat paper dolls, to various places around the world. Details
coming soon!
