I wanted to tell you all AGAIN how much I am enjoying your child this
year. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! They are so sweet, smart and well behaved. I tell
them EVERYDAY, that I love them and appreciate them! Thank you for teaching
your child to work hard and behave at school!
Don't forget to send in your Thanksgiving lunch reservation form that I sent
home this past Monday. If your child has lost it, just send in a note that
says who will be coming to eat with your child on that day, November 19.
Also, I am now all out of Clorox Wipes. If you would like to donate some to
our class, that would be great!
FYI........DIBELS testing will be in December, so we have about 3 more weeks
to work on Fluency. Your child MUST have at least a 68 on a passage never
read before to pass the test. On the homework passage, try to get your child
to read at least 90 words per minute since it can be practiced over and
over. Reread is one strategy to build fluency.
Reading- This week is a review, and there will not be a story to read.
Students WILL have 20 spelling words though. There will NOT be a vocabulary
or comprehension quiz this week. Students will be learning their readers'
theater parts this week as well
Math-This week students will be be subtracting by playing games and using
the hundreds' chart and other strategies to subtract 2 digit numbers.
Language- Week # 14 in DOL. Students will be writing "I am thankful"
stories using the expository mode of writing.
Science- Students will learn more about solids, liquids and gases. This is a
new AMSTI unit called, "Solids, Liquids and Gases."
