I recently returned to my hometown of Cullman after living away for 20
years. My husband,Jody,retired from the Army this year and we are glad to be
back in Cullman with our daughters Caroline and Emma. This will be my 10th
year of teaching first grade in my third school. I earned my bachelor's
degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Alabama in 1987
and my Master's Degree in Education from UAB in 1995. I taught one year for
DoDDS in Germany and seven years in Clarksville, TN. I am so excited to
begin my second year here at Cullman City Primary School. As a family we
enjoy traveling, going to the lake, and cheering for the Bearcats!
My mission for our class is to equip my students with the knowledge and
skills that they need to become independent readers and writers. Along the
way we will also become a community of learners where we encourage one
another to be problem-solvers, thoughtful listeners, and caring friends. My
goal is to instill a love of learning and a respect for curiosity in my
students that they will carry with them through the rest of their academic
careers.
