Christmas Around the World begins this week! We are so excited 
about ‘traveling’ all around the world to learn about the different Christmas 
traditions.  We will also begin our 3rd blue reader and have spelling this 
week.  Please see your child’s yellow folder for the letter explaining our 
spelling homework procedures.  Let me know if you have any questions or 
concerns.  I hope everyone had a restful holiday.  I am glad to be

READING: 
Monday: An Egg is an Egg (blue reader); leveled passages
Tuesday: An Egg is an Egg
 (blue reader) and leveled texts; high frequency words from text
Wednesday:  Leveled texts and comprehension activities; leveled passages
Thursday: leveled texts and comprehension activities; leveled passages
Friday:   review of skills and test on An Egg is an Egg.

PHONICS: -ge/dge; au,aw,a (as in ball). Review of all sounds and motions. 
MATH: identifying odd and even numbers; numbering a clockface; adding two to 
an even or odd number. 
SOCIAL SCIENCE: Christmas Around the World
WRITING:   Writing about
For a purpose: letters to Santa and Christmas lists.

•	Santa Shop Dec. 7-11.  Our class visits MONDAY, Dec. 7th during our 
library time!
