For the week of May 5, 2008
The children had their final Dibels Assessment last week and they all did
so well! I am so proud of this very special group of boys and girls. We still
have a lot more fun and learning ahead!
Some of the activities planned for this week:
• We will be working with CVCC words this week; (examples lamp, raft) allowing
the kids to practice blending words with four sounds. We will be working on
handwriting and playing games to review sight words for the year.
• We will resume math activities this week. The children will continue
subtraction practice throughout the week, as well as reviewing the number
words 1-10.
• In social studies we will be working on our celebration in honor of our moms
on Friday. We hope that each of our moms will be able to attend. It will
begin @ 8:00 a.m. in our class and should only last around 30 minutes. We hope
this will allow moms to go on to work if needed. If mom is unable to attend,
perhaps a grandmother or aunt may come in your place? Please R.S.V.P. by
filling on the note below and place in your child’s yellow folder tomorrow.
• Friday we will also have “bring a toy” day. The children may bring ONE toy
or game to share with the class. Please help your child to select and
appropriate toy. Please no expensive items. If possible mark the item with
your child’s name.
