Monday, May 5 Art Day
Today we will explore and experiment with many different types of art
activities. Some examples are painting, Play dough, chalk art, construction
paper art, etc. Wear clothes that you don¡¦t mind getting dirty! ƒº
Tuesday, May 6 Outside Fun Day
Today we will be spending as much time as possible outside! You may
bring some outside toys from home to play with today. Some examples to think
about¡Kfootball, kickball, jump ropes, frisbees, bubbles, sidewalk chalk,
etc.
Please put your name on everything you bring from home.. Also, whatever you
bring needs to fit in your back pack. NO Water Guns!
Parents: Please let me know if you could send some popsicles for
today! I know we will get hot!
Wednesday, May 7 Classroom Fun Center Swap
Today we will rotate for 30 minutes each to the Pony class, the
Clifford class and the Cow class and play with their fun centers! While we
are playing in their room, each class will play with the centers in our
classroom!
Thursday, May 8 Muffins for Mom
Moms
You are invited to come for
Muffins and Juice
Thursday, Morning from 7:45- 8:15
We will serve you and have some special Mother¡¦s Day surprises for you.
*If mom can¡¦t make it, Grandma or a special friend may come. Please only one
guest per child.
No siblings please.
Friday, May 9 Toys and Games from Home
Today you may bring ONE toy or game to school. Please make sure your
name is on anything you bring.
If you bring a toy, it needs to be an indoor toy. No balls, guns or
things that fly! ļ
If you bring a game, try to put any small pieces into a Ziplocs bag
and also try to put a rubber band or tie around the box so that small pieces
will not fall out.
Monday, May 12 Fun Zone Day
Today we will go to Fun Zone! We will get to jump, play putt-putt, ride the
go carts, and the train. We will also have snack and a special lunch!
You will need to wear tennis shoes and our BLUE CLASSROOM T-SHIRT on this day.
Parents: Please let me know if you would like to help with our snack and
drinks today.
Tuesday, May 13 Buddy Reading and Kitten Class Yearbooks
Today we will have several opportunities to choose a partner and read
books together. We can choose buddies from our class or another class.
We will also be signing our Kitten Autograph Books. Students will
find their picture and sign a special message in each Kitten friend’s book!
Wednesday, May 14 Movie and Popcorn Day
Today we will watch a special movie during the morning! In the
afternoon, we will watch another movie and enjoy popcorn and juice!
Thursday, May 15 Jazz Band and High School Day
This morning we will enjoy a High School Jazz Band performance at
CCPS!
After lunch, we will walk over to the High School Band room to listen
to the High School band practice! The band director will also show us some of
the many instruments that they play.
After we listen to the band practice, we will go to the High School
baseball field and run around the bases! We will also be able to sit in the
dug outs!
Please make sure you wear your TENNIS SHOES today!
Friday, May 16 Track and Field Day
Today is our PE Field day! We will walk to the soccer field and
participate in relays and games. Coach Bates has been working with us on all
of these activities.
You will need to wear you BLUE CLASS T-SHIRT AND TENNIS SHOES today!
After the races, we will eat our sack lunches together on the soccer
field and then you may play on the moon bounces!
If you plan on bringing your sack lunch today, please put EVERYTHING
in disposable containers and a paper bag. Bring this to the classroom in the
morning.
All siblings and parents are invited to Field Day. Tickets for students to
participate are $10.00. This price also included snacks and drinks while they
are playing!
Monday, May 19 Summer Fun Reading Day
Today we will have fun reading in the sun! You may bring your beach
towel, sunglasses, sun visor or cap, water bottle and as many books from home
as you would like!
We will read outside on the sidewalk and on the grass under the trees.
Parents, if you have a large beach umbrella that you wouldn’t mind
letting us use for the day, please let me know. We just need it for today.
Don’t forget to put sunscreen on your child BEFORE they come to
school!
Tuesday, May 20 Reading and Writing Celebration
Today we will show you how much we have learned in reading and
writing! Parents and Grandparents are invited to our classroom to look at our
writing from this year and listen to us read books!
Guest may come from 1:00- 1:30. You may sign your child out after the
activity if you would like.
Wednesday, May 21 “Beary” Fun Reading Day
Bring your special stuffed animal friend to read with today! We will
take our friend to various places around the school as we read!
Thursday, May 22 Ice Cream Party & Last Day of School
Today we will spend the day reading, playing and cleaning up the room
for the summer. We will also walk to the first grade hall to meet some of the
first grade teachers.
You and Mrs. Thrasher will have a special ice cream sundae snack
together! This will give us time to talk and share our favorite Kindergarten
memories!
Parents may come to school any time after 12:30 to say good bye and
check your child out.
