Phonics
This week will look at the following letters and sounds: e, s, sh, and th. We
will also be building words and practicing the skill of blending. At the end
of this week we will have a phonics test on all the sounds we've learned so
far.
Math
This week we will be using apples to learn how to divide a solid in half,
working with pictographs, and writing number sentences.
Reading
This week we will be engaging with some new texts related to apples. Miss
Burns will be leading our class this weeks, so enjoy our
wonderful student teacher. She has some fun learning activities planned
around apples and Johnny Appleseed.
Science:
This week we will be studying about seeds, plants, and apples. Talk to your
children about what they're seeing and learning about in science!
Writing
We will continue to write using some new strategies: writing all the sounds
in words, drawing hard to make pictures, and writing hard to write words.
Conversation Connection!
Talk to your children at night about their manners we're practicing at
school, discuss ways to show "kindess" - this is our first Zebra Class
Promise, and ask what new strategy we're using in reading. We've been
focusing on picture clues, character, and sequencing!
