I grew up in the Cullman County area. As a child I attended Dowling Junior
High School, graduating from West Point High School. My desire has always
been to work with children and young people to influence their lives in a
postive manner. After graduating from the University of Alabama in
Huntsville, I worked temporarily as a fourth grade teacher at Jones Valley
Elementary. Since coming back to Cullman, I have thouroughly
enjoyed my time at Cullman Primary and eagerly await this upcoming school
year.
I have always had a wonderful, supportive family including my mom, dad, a
big sister and a brother-in-law. I have two neices and a nephew who are just
precious to me! Then, in June of this year I married the love of my life,
Dusty, and we are enjoying our new life together. (I hope this helps clarify
any confusion about which teacher I am. My name was Kelly Jackson.) My
husband is a youth minister so we have lots of children (big and little) to
love.
I cherish each day here at CCPS. My students are so bright,
interesting and creative ... each day is brand new. Each day is a blessing!
My desire for the Zebra class is to achieve success in all realms of life.
My ultimate goal is to attain success and growth for the children
emotionally, socially, and academically. This is to be accomplished through
a postive classroom environment that promotes a "can-do" spirit in order to
encourage confidence in both academic and daily life.
Also, I hope to begin the process of teaching and practicing the art of
making choices. I feel that children need to be encouraged to examine their
own behavior and learn to "choose their behavior".
It is my desire to enable my students to be successful learners in all areas
of life. Ultimately, we want to grow together to become life-long learners
as well as caring, concerned, and committed members of the community.
