| THIS WEEK WE IN THE TIGER CLASS WE ARE LEARNING.....
LANGUAGE ARTS: This week we will learn about setting and important words in
text. We will be working a lot with onset and rimes and blending. We will
continue to work with a lot of phonemic awareness activities. Reading
fluently (smoothly) will continue to be a focus. Please remember to read
with your child nightly and to return your book each day.
MATH: Learning how to tell time and the many uses of time.
UNIT: Spring
WRITING: The students will be working in Writing Workshop the entire week.
VOCABULARY: Our CCPS new word last week was ENORMOUS. We encourage you to
help us build on your child’s vocabulary. Once they use a word five times
in their speaking, they own it! WOW! Watch our vocabulary grow!!!!!!
Please let me know if you hear your child using any of these words at
home! :-)
We will be going to watch the drama club perform POCAHONTAS at CHS on April
4th. Please turn in your $2.00 and permission slip by March 31st.
Please remember to send your child a healthy snack and water bottle to
school daily. Due to all of the sickness at school, it would be great if
each child had his/her OWN water bottle instead of using the water
fountain. This would cut down on the spread of germs tremendously.
