Please practice the following concepts with your child NIGHTLY:
We have officially began our LETTER EXPERT reading activities! When it is
your child's night to be the "expert" he/she will be bringing home
the "expert" book and activities. Please make sure you do this with your
child to help him/her be confident in presenting with the teacher the
following day.
Your child also is starting to bring home a book to read nightly. None of
the homework activities will be timely. However, I do ask that a parent or
adult do the homework activities with the students to ensure they are
grasping the concepts being taught.
I value your family time, as I do mine. It is the quality of the activities
that will impact your child and his/her reading abilities.
In addition to your homework packets and LETTER EXPERT activities, please
practice the following with your child as often as possible.
* Tying Shoes
* Counting as high as he/she can count, then prompt to the next number and
see how far they can go!
* Phone Number (a great way of learning your phone number is putting it to
the tune of a favorite song)
* Address
* Right and Left
* Printing their names with the correct upper/lower case letters
* Handwriting/Initial Sound worksheets
* Read for at least 15 minutes with your child NIGHTLY!
