me and I will get back to you ASAP. If you want your child to eat breakfast
at school please make sure that he/she knows to do so or if he/she is not to
eat make sure this is known. Please send in lunch money on Monday in and
envelope marked lunch money with your child’s name on the front.
• Space Shuttle Demonstration on December 3rd.
• Santa Shop December 7-11th. We will shop during our library time on
Monday, December 7th. We go to library at 10:25. Please send any money in
and envelope with your child’s name on the front.
• We will start spelling this week. Your child will have nightly
homework in spelling, math and reading. I will let your child know if there
is a change in the homework schedule.

I will begin their homework with them and they will finish it at home during

Spelling Homework Schedule:
Monday – Write each word 5 times each.
Tuesday – Chose 5 words and put them in ABC order.
Wednesday- Use the other words in ABC order.
Thursday – Take a practice test.
Reading:
We will cover identifying characters, setting, problems and solutions,
retelling using beginning, middle and end, compare and contrast, preview and
long /e/. This story should be read Monday night each night after there will
be a different story coming home that will contain the same skills covered as
in the story, read Honey Bees. The skills for the story are previewing and
comparing and contrasting. Books to be used are The Paperbag Princess, St.
George and the Dragon, Frederick, Frog and Toad, and An Extraordinary Egg.
Math:
We use Saxon math at CCPS. This program builds on concepts and reviews
daily. We will complete hands on lessons in class each day and complete side
A of the math worksheet together in class. Your child will complete side B
as homework each night and return the sheet back to me the following day.
Math skills this week are; addition number sentences, numbers 49-52, double
addition facts to 18, addition facts adding zero, counting dimes, counting by
2’s, telling time to the hour, and subtracting zero and subtracting a number
from itself, counting by 10’s and 2’s, identifying ¼ and ½, following a
recipe, identifying even and odd numbers, showing time to the hour.
*I will not send home the graded homework papers.
