FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
  1. How am I being graded?
  2. How do I figure my final grade for the trimester?
  3. How will I make up missed assignments?
  4. Is there a way for me to earn extra credit?

How am I being graded?

Each assignment, test, quiz, and activity is worth a certain number of
points. To figure your average, simply divide the points earned by the
total
number of points possible. You will get a decimal, which you may multiply
by
100 to get your average.

How do I figure my final grade for the trimester?

Your trimester average is based on a combination of your first six weeks
grade, second six weeks grade, and your trimester exam. Each six weeks
average counts 40% and the exam counts 20%(1st six weeks times two plus 2nd
six weeks times two plus trimester exam grade. Add those numbers up and
divide by five to get your final average).

How will I make up missed assignments?

You may make up tests with an assigned teacher at 7:00 a.m.. I
need to know if you plan to do this so that I can send her the test. It is
no fun to arrive at school at 7:00 a.m. to make up a test only to find that
a test has not been left for you. You may also make up tests with me before
school (not quite so early), or during scheduled class times. Due to the
nature of our lab activities, they can rarely be made up, but you must still
be responsible for the data sheets (check with me or your lab partner for
details)as well as knowledge of the material for tests.

Is there a way for me to earn extra credit?

Bonus questions will occasionally be added to tests and the entire class
will be given the opportunity for a few points of extra credit at some point
during the trimester. I do not assign indivdual extra credit assignments.
