This week in PE we will be playing pin ball, satellite ball, cup
stacker, yellow ball and doing the "12 Days of Gym Class." The students who
did not make 70 or above on the test were given the opportunity to retake the
test again on Monday. They should have brought home the test to use as a
study guide. We have reviewed the bones and muscles and prepared for the test
for the last two weeks. Ask your student how they did on the test.
Also, we will be starting our archery unit with the 5th and 6th grade
students January 5. During the two weeks, we will allow students to sign up
for archery team tryouts. This year, the archery team will compete in the
regional competition on March 11 at Good Hope. Winners in the regional
competition will then compete in the state competition.
We are aware that during the year there are situations that occur in PE
that concern you as well as health issues that need to be addressed. All
concerns about any PE activity or health condition should be directed to the
PE department. We are happy to discuss them with you. You may reach us by
phone at 734-2232 (press 4 and then press 5), or by email at
cbowling@cullmancats.net, amber.fox@cullmancats.net, or
tammy.pendley@cullmancats.net. You may leave us a message and we will return
your call or reply to your email as soon as possible. Our planning period is
from 2:50-3:15.
All guidelines for PE including wearing tennis shoes (page 4) and sick or
doctor notes (page 8) are in the student handbook. Please look over the
handbook and discuss the guidelines with your student(s). The guidelines are
also on this web site.
If we have discipline problems with your child in PE, a Disciplinary
Report will be sent home with your student that will inform you of the
problem. You are then able to discuss the incident with your child and sign
and return the report to us. We appreciate your help and together we can
prevent most situations from becoming serious.
We will send home notes for special events (bowling, field day, etc.)and
you may also check for announcements on this web site.
Thank you for the opportunity to work with your child in PE. Your
entrusting us with your precious children is a privilege. Come by at open
house and introduce yourself or say hello. We look forward to seeing you.
