I am a 1977 graduate of Cullman High School. I received my B.S. in Music
Education (choral and general music) from the University of North Alabama in
1981. I also earned a Master's degree in Music Education from Jacksonville
State University in 1997. I have been teaching in the Cullman City School
system since 1982 with the exception of the two years I taught in
Zweibreucken, Germany.
I am married to Carol Hardeman Clemmons. She was a kindergarten teacher for
over 17 years in the Cullman City School System. She is currently employed
as the librarian at Hanceville Elementary. We have two children, Brooke and
Brett. Brooke and her huband, Josh, have blessed our family with a
grandson, Brayden Lee and a granddaughter, Briana Grace. The grandchildren
are one year apart in age. Brett graduated from Cullman High School May
2006. He is currently attending Auburn University.
I want my students to be musically literate after having gone through my
choral program. Sight reading music is the best gift I can give my
students. My hope is that they will experience music and make it their own
for the rest of their lives.
