Hope you had a terrific holiday with family and friends.
I missed seeing the children!!!

I’m sending a December Scholastic Book Order. Like the last time, if there
is something you do not want your child to know you ordered send me a note
and I will put it in a brown paper bag when it comes back. Orders are due by
Friday Dec. 4th so they will be back before we get out for Christmas.

Please send me a note about eating Christmas Dinner with your child if you
plan to come. We need a head count so Ms. Emmert knows how much food to
prepare.

Attached to this note is a form about the yearbook. If you would like a
yearbook you need to preorder it between now and March to assure you get one.

If you have a special activity you would like to do with the children during
this holiday season let me know and we will set up a time for you to come and
share.

Our class Christmas party will be Thursday December 17th instead of Friday.
The other 2nd grade teachers and I thought it might take some of the burden
off parents with more children. More information will be coming home soon
about it.

Talking about Christmas, I have a request. Children sometimes bring me gifts
at Christmas (which I do not expect at all!!!). If your child does want to
give me something could you get a small gift certificate from Wal Mart or The
Bulletin Board that I could use to purchase materials for the classroom.
That would be a very nice gift. I am all the time picking up small items for
us to use, (pens, glue sticks, ink, paper, pipe cleaners, Lysol cleaner for
desks, shaving cream, treat items, film developing, rubber bands, staples,
colored paper, etc). It would be nice to have a certificate I could use when
I make those purchases. No gift is expected though so don’t feel like you
need to give me anything at all. Spending time with your child every day is
a gift in itself.

There is going to be a talent show in January here at East Elementary. If
your child signed up to try out, remind them on the day of their try out. If
they miss their time they are out of the talent show. I do not have a
schedule of times so I can’t help them out. Student Council is doing this.

Our Schedule:
