About The Teacher
Welcome to East Elementary School! Hello, I am Rita Dean and this is my 15th year to teach. I began my educational journey at The University of Alabama where I obtained both my Bachelor and Master's degree in Elementary Education. While there, I enjoyed being captain of Alabama's dance line, The Crimson Cabaret, and took part in many other collegiate activities. I am also a National Board Professional Teacher. I am married to CHS Basketball and Golf Coach, Mike Dean, and we have been blessed with three wonderful children, Keaton, Presley, and Easton. Keaton and Presley are in middle school and Easton will be joining us here at East this year. I am passionate about teaching 2nd graders. The 2nd grade curriculum is enlightening and I look forward to teaching your child.

I believe we are all life-long learners but take different journeys on our path to maximum development and knowledge. I serve as a tool to assist your child on their journey as they learn and grow. Together, we can help your child reach their fullest potential and witness their growth and maturity into productive, caring, and knowledgeable citizens.
