12-4-09 I want to thank everyone for the wonderful birthday party and gifts! It was so sweet of all of you to do this for me. The best part was how excited the children were and how much they enjoyed the day! We are helping Cullman Caring for Kids with a canned food collection. See the attached sheet that has items listed that are needed at this time. I will have a box in the room that the children can place the items in every morning. Watch homework folder next week for Christmas party information! See the attached note from Mr. Wiggins concerning snacks, parties, and drinks. In the Monday test folders I will include the children’s STAR reading/ math scores for this grading period. AR scores for the month will also be included. Reading: •Phonics – long a, long e, oi, oy, ou, silent consonants, contractions, c, ck, k, prefix re, and suffix ful. •Vocabulary – Words come from the book The Hatseller and the Monkeys. Words attached. Test Thursday. •Comprehension – Test on comprehension passage Wednesday. Time for Kids to practice comprehension. •The children should read at least 20-30 minutes each night. Spelling: •Words attached. Test Friday. English: •Adjectives how things taste, smell, sound, and feel. •DOL test Friday. Math: •Go over pages from class today to learn the plane shapes. •Timed addition test Monday. •Timed subtraction test Tuesday. •Chapter 18 test on plane shapes Wednesday. •DOM test Friday. •Begin chapter 19 solid shapes. Social Science: •Learn different customs and traditions about Christmas around the World.
