Hello! My name is Tamika Reshea Bretherick Powell. I am originally from
Florence, Alabama where I attended Rogers High School and graduated in 1996.
I cheered from the time I was in elementary all the way through high school.
I received a cheerleading scholarship from Shoals Community College, where I
attended for two years. I then transferred to the University of Alabama,
where I met my wonderful husband, Cliff Powell. After getting married, we
moved to Cullman. I then transferred to UAB and graduated in the spring of
2002. Cliff and I have four beautiful children. Brannon Taylor Powell is
the oldest and attends school here at East. Mandolyn Grace Powell is 5 and
attends the Primary School. Lillyann Reshea Powell is 3 and attends Little
Lambs. Melody Joy Powell is the youngest and is now 19 months. I also have
two sisters and 1 brother. They and my parents all live in Florence,
Alabama. We are all very close and enjoy spending time together as a
family.
One of my hobbies is playing the guitar. My family and I often play and sing
when we're all together. I also enjoy horsback riding when I get the
chance. In highschool I barrel-raced and rode in horse shows.
I have been teaching at East Elementary seven fabulous years. I love
teaching and I'm so excited about the upcoming 2009-2010 school year. I look
forward to getting to know all the children and parents in my classroom.
It's going to be a BLAST, so buckle down, and get ready to take off!
