How to use this page: Once a student has been given ample practice time with corrective feedback reading the Dolch Phrases and fluency (ease and smoothness of reading) is mastered beginning with List 1, have the child practice reading the Basic Sight Word Sentences. Be sure to allow the student ample practice time and corrective feedback to develop fluency and confidence in reading List 1. The Dolch Phrases are embedded within the sentences and the student should not have to spend much time, if any, figuring out unknown words to read each sentence fluently and smoothly. Teachers can use this page directly from this web site for classroom or print it out a copies for lamination for classroom practice or homework practice. Parents are welcome to use this page as well since directions are given for its use. Just remember that repetition, ample practice, and corrective feedback are key in remembering and learning "sight words". Move on to the next list, when your student is at least 90-95% accurate. Don't forget to go back and review previous lists as warm up activities before starting new lists.
