Classroom Procedures/Rules

 CLASSROOM PROCEDURES AND RULES:

1. Be in your seat when the tardy bell rings. If you are not, you will be
counted tardy.

2. Begin assignment on board by the time the bell rings. Assignments are
posted on the board.

3. Students will be assigned a computer and will stay at that computer each
day unless given permission to move. Do not get out of your seat without
permission. This includes going to another student's computer without
permission.

4. Do not talk unless teacher gives permission and do not disrupt the class
in any way. There will be time assigned in class when students may be
allowed to talk to their neighbor only. This time allowed will be only in a
very low tone of voice or there will be no talking.

5. If your chair ends up in any other position other than the appropriate
position with all four legs on the floor, you can be written up for Class I
offense or Class II depending on the severity of the situation. Keep your
chair in the proper position on the floor and do not touch anyone else’s
chair. This is to protect you, other students and the equipment.

6. Come to class each day with pen/pencil and paper. Absolutely use only
blue or black ink pens.

7. Do not chew gum or anything appearing to be gum, etc. Also no food, drink
or candy in computer lab.

8. Damaging equipment in any way is a serious offense. Depending on the
severity of the damage, this could be a Class II or III.

9.Log-off at the end of each class period. Other students may come in during
the next class and get into your work!

10.Absolutely no Internet use or games unless specifically stated by your
instructor.

11.Textbooks do not leave the classroom unless otherwise stated by your
teacher. All textbooks remain at each computer. Return all books to their
proper place on the table at the end of class.

12.No cell phones will be allowed in the computer lab.

***I prefer to start out using name on the board as a warning for most items
listed above to give students a chance to correct what they are doing. After
that, we will discuss more serious consequences to help motivate them in the
right direction.***
