I graduated from Marengo Academy in 1982 and received my bachelor's degree
in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Samford University in
1986. Later I went to graduate school at Kennesaw State University in
Georgia and received my Master's Degree in 1993. I taught 3rd grade at
Lewis Elementary in Kennesaw, Georgia for 7 years and taught 5th grade at
Byrd Elementary in Selma for 6 years. I spent one year teaching 6th grade
science at Demopolis Middle School before our son Will was born in 2001.
After 5 years at home being a mom, I joined the MAE staff in 2006 in the
position of teacher/principal. I love teaching young people and hope to have
many more years in the classroom.
Our class mission is to work together as a group, encouraging each other to
succeed and learn all that we can so a successful, responsible life is
possible. A tremendous part of our purpose is to respect each other and
treat others the way we want to be treated.
