About The Teacher
Degree: B.S. Chemistry/Math from Birmingham-Southern College M.S. Chemical Engineering from University of Tennessee Worked in industry as a research chemist, chemical engineer, and a an industry educator. I have been teaching at MA since Fall 2005.

Mission
My background in industry has allowed me to understand the type of information and skills required for students to be employable in the workplace. I try to encourage and teach these skills such as team building, use of technology, and problem-solving to my students while helping them to understand the basic knowledge required to pass each course. I have a very open approach to teaching where I encourage and use "hands-on" activities to explain concepts in my teaching. I encourage question asking! I require my students to work and expect them to review their notes each night to be prepared for possible Bell Work Quizzes each day. I want them to come to understand that science is all aound them and helps us to explain the phenomena we see in our world each day. I am eager to learn from your children and I hope they will be eager to learn from me. God Bless!
