Preparing Tomorrow’s Leaders Today

Moody's first school was a rock structure built in 1879. Due to growth in the community, the St. Clair County Board of Education was forced to build a new structure, now known as Moody Elementary School, and establish a middle school. The new elementary building was completed in 1990. By the spring of 1998, a wing with additional classrooms was completed. In 2003, expansion soon became necessary and construction was again completed on a second wing, containing classrooms, restrooms, a computer lab, workroom, and library media center.
Moody Elementary School's school-wide plan has been designed to provide a comprehensive educational program for all students in grades K-3. Our primary goal is to provide instruction that will enable students to meet and exceed state and federal standards. We believe that improving the learning environment and teaching strategies will ultimately result in greater student achievement.

BOOSTERTHON 2009

Once again you made our annual fund-raiser a great success. We had a great time at the “FUN RUN” and all our students did a great job. We have sent home collection envelopes to put all pledge money in. Money is due on Thursday, November 19, but we will gladly extend the dead-line for students to be able to turn in the remainder of their pledges. We are shooting for 100% collections this year. We appreciate all you did to help and want you to know that this money helps our school tremendously in this year of proration.

The St. Clair County Board of Education has entered into an agreement with TigerTranz, Inc. for the collection of returned checks. The Board requires that you make sure the following information is on all checks written:
*Full Name
*Street Address
*Home Phone Number. The amount of the collection fee is currently $30 in our state: however this fee is subject to change as allowed by law.

JUST IN CASE... We have added a new SCHOOL-WIDE NOTIFICATION SYSTEM. You can sign up your cell phone or an email account or both to receive a message in the event of a school-wide emergency or announcement. This option will allow us to contact you with a greater amount of information at a faster pace.

M.E.S. Goes Green In an effort to help the environment Moody Elementary will be recycling used ink and toner cartridges. Any used ink or toner cartridges can be sent to Mr. Thompson in the computer lab. Thank You for all your help. We will no longer be collecting newspapers, but encourage you to recycle all paper products whenever possible.
