November 30-December 4
READING
This week is a review week. We will review the letters Aa, Ss, Pp, Cc, Ii and their sounds. We will review all of the sight words we have learned. We will also take the Unit 2 Test. We will be practicing for the upcoming DIBELS assessment.
MATH
We will begin learning about fractions in math. We will learn that a whole object can be divided into parts. We will also continue to review solid figures, sphere, cone, cube, and cylinder.
SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES
We will continue our AMSTI Unit on Balls and Ramps. We will discuss how different balls move. We will begin learning about Christmas.
HOMEWORK
Homework for this week will be DIBELS practice sheets. Complete, initial, and return on Friday. Also, have your child continue to read the books that are coming home in the pencil pouch. December reading logs are also in your child’s folder.
REMINDERS
Welcome back! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday. Wow, we only have 3 weeks until Christmas break…and it will fly by! We have a lot of work to be completed between now and then. Your child’s attendance is critical. Please have them at school and on time unless they are sick.
We will be painting Christmas t-shirts to wear to the field trip. Please send in a clean white short or long sleeve t-shirt by December 9.
We will be taking a field trip to the Eastdale Mall on December 16. Permission slips were sent home before Thanksgiving. Please send in $9.00 along with the permission slip. I will need as many chaperones as possible. The mall is a very busy place. The more parents that can come, the better!
