BONUS BUCKS

Disrespect and Defiance WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

Daily Procedures and Routines

  1. Students should enter the class quietly, take their seat, and begin the daily bell ringer posted on the board above my desk. Students are to remain in their seats and may only leave the classroom with permission. Permission to leave the classroom may only be obtained from the teacher when the current activity is completed. Students may obtain permission by raising their hand. When I want students’ attention I will ring a bell. When students hear this bell they should cease all talking and give me their undivided attention. When I or your classmates are speaking, you should not be. Students will be dismissed by me after the bell has rung. In order to be dismissed students must be in their desk.
  2. I keep a monthly calendar on the table at the front of the class. This lists all class work/homework, test/quiz dates, and other due dates for that month. It is the student’s responsibility to check the calendar for any assignments missed that need to be made up. It is the student’s responsibility to turn in missed assignments for any excused absence. If there are any questions regarding the assignments please ask.

Students must have an excused absence or tardy to make up work that they missed due to an absence or tardy. Missed assignments must be made up within 3 days of the excused absence. This is the school’s Board of Education Policy. It is STUDENTS responsibility to get the Student Center on time in the morning to get your absence excused. If students have ATC or VA 1st block, this is no excuse for not having a proper admit slip when they return to school/class after an absence or tardy. It is STUDENTS RESPONSIBILITY to get to school on time to be excused. STI WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO PUT IN A GRADE FOR UNEXCUSED ABSENCES.

  1. Attendance will be taken after the bell rings while you are completing your bell ringer. You are considered tardy if you not in the classroom when the bell rings. Remember 3 unexcused tardies count as 1 absence. To expedite attendance taking I take role by empty desk according to a seating chart. If students are not in their assigned seat they will be marked absent.
  2. There is a 3 drawer bin on my desk where work that needs to be graded should be put according to class period. There is another 3 drawer bin on the front table where papers that need to be filed should be put. This is where all papers should be deposited unless otherwise instructed. Students will have daily bell ringers class work, group work, and homework. Please refer to the board above my desk for the material you are responsible for each day.   All test and quizzes are to be placed in the “to be filed” bin after review/questions. I keep all tests and quizzes in student’s files. Students are responsible for keeping up with all other paperwork.
  3. I want you to pass my class. Many students fail because they simply don't do their assignments. You can pass!! Even if you hate history you can pass this class!! Besides you have to have it to graduate. History isn't just about a bunch of people who died before you were born. History is how you got to where you are now. History is made everyday. History is being made right now. YOU HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE DECISIONS in the present that will become your history. MAKE THEM WISELY. I cannot make you succeed. You have to make your own success. I WILL NOT PASS YOU, AND I WILL NOT FAILY YOU. YOU WILL EITHER PASS OR FAIL YOURSELF. I WILL HOWEVER, GIVE YOU THE TOOLS TO SUCCEED.

Students will be required to know and follow content contained in this Course Expectations. I will review this information with them and they will be quizzed on it. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact me at the school (334) 365-8804, or by email at tellzey@autaugacountyschool.com.
