This is my eighth year at Prattville High School. I moved from Ponchatoula,
Louisiana (June 2002) where I taught honors biology and anatomy and
physiology at Ponchatoula High School for fifteen years. I have a Bachelor
of Science in Science Education from Florida State University, a Masters of
Education in Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University and 30
graduate hours beyond my masters degree. My husband was a college professor
and research director at Southeastern Louisiana University for eighteen
years. He currently works on saving the Red-Cockaded Woodpecker through
Auburn University. He serves as a great resource for my biology classes. It
is my desire that biology will be a great learning experience for each of my
students this year. I love teaching and hope to make a positive difference in
the lives of my students.
It is my mission to create an awareness in my students of the need to be
informed of the developments of science that influence our daily lives and
be able to evaluate these developments. They will be presented with
situations in class that stimulate crticial thinking and require higher
order thinking skills to evaluate and determine a solution or possible
solutions to a given question. It is my goal that through these activities,
my students will be better able to become resonsible and productive citizens
in an ever changing global society.
