May 10: Tonight finish reading Animal Farm. You have a quiz on chapters 8-10 tomorrow.
May 9: Tonight finish your chapter 13 and 14 questions. Be prepared to use these on your open note quiz tomorrow and to then turn them in.

January 30: Tonight begin reading and studying Chapter 14 of your Complete Idiot's Guide text. You will have a quiz on this chapter on Friday. This is a difficult chapter, so I would suggest taking notes or outlining as you read. Then go back and reread the chapter. Focus on people and places in your reading.

January 25: Tonight begin working on your current event. You are welcome to choose an article about any country in Europe, and I don't mind if you choose an article that is about America. However, if your article is about America, you MUST write about how it is a global issue.
January 24: Finish reading and annotating Queen Elizabeth's speeches. Come prepared tomorrow to turn in your answers (with direct quotes) and discuss them as well.
January 23: Tonight work on reading and studying both of Queen Elizabeth's speeches. The questions that accompany the reading are due Wednesday. I also expect you to come to class on Wednesday prepared to discuss what type of leader Elizabeth was after reading more about her. Making annotations on the text in the margins will help faciliate this discussion.
Weekend of January 20: Over the weekend, find time to read and study Queen Elizabeth's speeches to have a better understanding about what type of leader she was. Be sure to read all directions on the handout. This assignment is due Wednesday (1/25). I expect thorough and well-prepared responses for each question with quotes incorporated smoothly within your response. The last question on the handout is your opinion; threfore, it is not necessary for you to include a direct quote in this response.

December 5: Finish your 5.3 timeline tonight. Remember that I am more concerned with events than dates. Do not focus on making this assignment look good; the purpose of this assignment is to facilitate our discussion of the Reformation tomorrow. You need 10 events on your timeline, along with a one-sentence explanation about why each event is significant. Put these events on a line. Create a visual that looks like a timeline. I will take these up for a grade tomorrow.
Weekend of December 2: Over the weekend, begin working on your timeline for 5.3. Read through chapter 5 section 3 and create a timeline with the important events of the section. For each entry on your timeline, you must explain why the event was significant. You need a minumum of 10 entries on your timeline. This assignment is due on Tuesday.
November 30: Tonight work on the Renaissance online art assignment under the PreAP World History handouts tab. This assignment is due Friday.
November 29: Tonight check to make sure you can access the Renaissance online project under the PreAP World History handouts tab. After opening the PowerPoint, thoroughly read the directions on the first slide. This assignment is due on Friday.
November 28: Wrap up your visual for your project and your Works Cited page. All students need to turn in a Works Cited page and some sort of visual to me tomorrow. If you are using a PowerPoint for your visual, email it to my school account by tomorrow. Check the rubric for all parts of the project, and finally, practice your presentation. Show me you have prepared and put time into this assignment.
Thanksgiving holiday: Over the holiday, finish your chapter 5 projects and prepare for your presentations. ALL projects are due on the Tuesday you get back (11/29), even if you do not present until Wednesday. Check out the handouts tab to get information about the Works Cited page and a rubric for the entire project (I handed these out Friday in class but many of you were absent). Weekend of November 10: Over the weekend, begin working on your project if you have time. Remember that we will go to the library on Monday so make sure and bring your flash drive, money, or other supplies you might need. Have a safe, long, and relaxing Veterans Day!
November 9: Tonight prepare for the essay portion of your test tomorrow. You may bring in an introduction, but ONLY an introduction. Remember that you will only have 45 minutes to write two body paragraphs and a conclusion, so come ready.
November 8: Your multiple choice portion of your Unit I test is tomorrow!!! Make sure you know the main idea/importance of each term on your handout. Also go ahead and start planning for the essay portion of the test on Thursday.
November 7: Tonight study and preapre for your Unit 1 test on Wednesday and Thursday. Please note that I have changed the requirements for the in-class essay portion of the test. You are only required to write TWO body paragraphs instead of three. Please plan for this essay. It could also be about England, France, or any other areas in Europe we discussed in chapter 4. Finally, study for your chapter 4 quiz tomorrow (including your map). There will be three i.d. questions and four map questions.
