I would like for you to consider joining the Spanish Club. Aside from the
monthly meetings (normally the 3rd Thursday night of the month) The Spanish
club has one "big event" each semester. In the Fall our November meeting is
the International Banquent, which is a meal and entertainment provided by
the Spanish, French, and German clubs. The major focus of attention in the
Spring Semester is "Club Competition" in April at the University of Alabama
in Tuscaloosa. This is great fun, but does require dedication and
preparation by all participants.
Each month the Club has a meeting to treat any business, make preparations
for upcoming events, and have some kind of "cultural" event. Refreshments
always follow the meeting time.
The cost is $20 of which $10 pays for your club tee-shirt and the remainder
assists with club expenses. During the year we also have fundraisers to
raise money for larger costs, like equipment purchases, competition
expenses, etc. These fundraisers are conducted by the club members, as well
as all the Spanish classes.
Club meetings have a cost of 50 cents per person to help defray the cost of
the drinks and to help us know what attendance to expect. The club provides
the food item at the meetings.
