How is my 1st Nine Weeks average computed?

1st Nine Weeks:

Classwork/Homework       10%
Quizzes         35%
Tests           35%
Projects        10%
Midterm         10%

How is my 2nd Nine Weeks average computed?

2nd Nine Weeks:

Classwork/Homework       15%
Quizzes         35%
Tests           35%

What is the exemption policy?

According to the Autauga County Board of Education, it is:

1.  students with an "A" semester avg. and no more than three (3) absences
2.  students with a  "B" semester avg. and no more than two (2) absences
3.  students with a  "C" semester avg. and no more than one (1) absence
4.  students who have been suspended or sent to alternative school will not 
be exempt from semester exams.
*Don't forget tardies count as 1/3 of an absence, so 3 tardies = 1 
absence*
**All absences and tardies, excused and unexcused, count against exemption**
***Absences and tardies from the whole semester (not just the 2nd 9 Weeks 
will be used to calculate whether a student is exempt from the Final Exam***

Can one be exempt from the Midterm Exam?

No, exemption is only granted for the Final Exam.  This is Board of 
Education 
policy.

What does it take to get a good grade?

1.  Read the assigned textbook section(s) daily (be an active reader)
2.  Complete all classwork/homework/project assignments (don't just put 
forth minimum effort)
3.  Pay attention in class (listen, take notes, participate in discussions)
4.  Study every day in addition to the assigned homework
5.  Ask relevant questions
