Mm /m/ as in monkey
Tt /t/ as in turtle
Aa /a/ as in apple
Ss /s/ as in snake
Cc /c/ as in cat
Ii /i/ as in igloo
Ff /f/ as in fish
Dd /d/ as in dog
Nn /n/ as in nest
Bb /b/ as in ball
Kk /k/ as is kite
Pp /p/ as in pig
Rr /r/ as in rat
Oo /o/ as in octopus
Hh /h/ as in hippo
Ll /l/ as in lake
Gg /g/ as in gate
Ee /e/ as in elephant
Ww /w/ as in whale
Jj /j/ as in jam
We have also introduced the sight words or as we call them "first grade"
words:

Please work on these daily to ensure that your child is progressing as
expected.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Up to this point, we have introduced the following conceps:
Basic shapes
Colors
Sorting and Classifying according to color, size, and shape
Creating and extending patterns
Introduced the numbers 0 - 20 and their values
All of these skills will be tested and if not mastered will be tested
again for the next grading period. I will be sending home extra practice for
those students who are having difficulty.
