About The Teacher

My name is Deanise Peacock. I am thrilled to be the reading coach at
Prattville Kindergarten School! I have been a teacher in the Autuaga County
School System for the past ten years. I spent my first two years at
Prattville Primary School and the last eight years at Daniel Pratt Elementary
School. Reading instruction has always been my passion, so being able to
serve as a reading coach is a dream come true for me!

I grew up in Montgomery and attended public school there. After high school
I attended Auburn University Montgomery where I received a B.S. in Criminal
Justice. I worked as a paralegal for a local law firm for ten years before
deciding to go back to school and pursue a degree in elementary education. I
received my M.Ed. in Elementary Education in 1999 and started teaching.
Several years later, I enrolled at Alabama State University and received my
Ed.S. in Elementary Education with a primary focus on reading instruction.

I am currently living in Prattville. I have two daughters, Kristin and
Katie. Much like her mom, Kristin is currently pursuing an elementary
education degree at AUM. Katie is a junior at Prattville High School. I
also have four dogs that take up most of my spare time. When I am not at
school, I enjoy working in my yard, jogging, and spending time with my family.

Mission For Our Students

It is my mission to help the students at Prattville Kindergarten School
become strong and independent readers.
