Our Valentine party is this Friday, February 12th at 1:30 p.m. Please
remember to bring your assigned goody and to send your child's Valentine
cards to pass out to their friends no later than Thursday.
**Please especially remember to send a stamp with your child so that they can
mail you a special Valentine to your house.
This week is our review week in Reading. We have finished our stories in
Unit 3. Please make sure to practice all of the high frequency words that we
have learned so far. Also, please practice sounding out the words in the
books that your child brings home every week. I will be sending home some
word cards for you to cut out and use as flashcards. The high frequency
words will be the words that we have covered as well as the words that we
will be learning in the weeks to come.
In Social Sciences during the month of February:
We will be studying about Groundhog Day, Valentine's Day, President's Day,
Dental Health, Famous Black Historians and Keeping our Heart healthy.
In Language Arts:
We are reviewing all the letters and sounds we have covered so far this
year. We are also taking our end of Unit 3 Assessment. Encourage your child
to sound out words as you read books with them at home.
Now that we have introduced three VOWELS....THE VOWELS "O", "A"
and "I" ...Your child should be able to read SOME SMALL WORDS LIKE
RAT,TAR,SIT, PIT, TIP,CAT, CAP, PAM, PAT, TAP, DOT, SPOT, ROD, MOM,
SAP, TAM, MAT, SAT, SAM, ETC.

We are learning about how to add. Addition is going great in our class.
