| In order to help prepare your student for kindergarten, I have listed a few
suggestions for things you and your child can work on to get ready for
school.
review colors - black, blue, white, red, green, purple, yellow, orange, brown
review and practice with rhymes - recite nursery rhymes and silly songs to
help your child understand what rhyming words are.
writing name - have your child practice writing his/her name with a capital
letter at the beginning and the rest lower case. (Mrs. Gina)
listening skills - read to your child and ask him/her questions about the
story you read. Talk about characters, beginning, middle, and end, problems
and solutions, etc.
letter naming - help your child learn to recognize and name capital and
lower case letters.
