Hi! I am excited about being your child's teacher this year. This is my
fifth year at Prattville Kindergarten. I have been teaching nearly ten
years.
I have a bachelor's degree from Troy State University and a master's degree
from Alabama State University. Education has always been a big part of my
life as both of my parents worked in this field. My dad taught and coached
football and basketball. My mom worked with special needs children. Children
are very close to my heart and I love kindergarten.
I am married to Tony and we have one daughter, Claudia, who will be in the
fourth grade at Prattville Elementary this fall. Claudia is very excited that
she will be a big sister in October. We are anxiously awaiting the birth of
our second child. To put your minds at ease I will only be out 6 weeks for
maternity leave and can assure you that in my absence I will keep close tabs
on things and know that my substitute will do everything as I would and will
continue a strong educational curriculum until I return. We attend First
Baptist Church where we are actively involved.It is my hope that you and
your child have the best kindergarten experience possible and by working
together closely, we can make that a reality.
It is my belief that all children are capable of learning. All children
learn in different ways and grasp certain skills at different times. My goal
for the year is for each child to feel loved, safe, and free to express
themselves in order to find the way he or she learns best. It is important
for each child to feel confident in the learning environment and want to
succeed. When a student feels secure, they can perform without fear of
failure.
