Hi! I am excited about being your child's teacher this year. This is my
sixth year at Prattville Kindergarten. I have been teaching nearly ten
years.
I have a bachelor's degree from Troy State University and a master's degree
from Alabama State University. Education has always been a big part of my
life as both of my parents worked in this field. My dad taught and coached
football and basketball. My mom worked with special needs children. Children
are very close to my heart and I love kindergarten. My other hobbies are
singing,watching football and basketball and spending time with my family.
I am married to Tony and we have two daughters. Claudia, our oldest, is 10
and in the fifth grade at Prattville Intermediate School. She loves
basketball and hopes to play college ball someday. Chloe is our very active
13 month old who "Rules the Roost!" She is very independent and having such
an older sister is constantly given in to and just a little spoiled! As you
can see there is never a dull moment in my life!
We attend First Baptist Church where we are actively involved. It is my hope
that you and your child have the best kindergarten experience possible and by
working together closely, we can make that a reality.
It is my belief that all children are capable of learning. All children
learn in different ways and grasp certain skills at different times. My goal
for the year is for each child to feel loved, safe, and free to express
themselves in order to find the way he or she learns best. It is important
for each child to feel confident in the learning environment and want to
succeed. When a student feels secure, they can perform without fear of
failure.
