Friend of the Week

2009-2010

We will begin our Friend of the Week schedule after our Christmas Break. I
will prepare a schedule in advance to help you plan for the activities.

It's time to unleash our stars!! After our Christmas Break, we will
have 2 special friends each week to dedicate special time to. During each
student's special week, we will make them feel like a superstar. Our
lunchtime is at 12:22, so our special "show and tell" time will follow at
1:00. Follow the daily schedule as planned out below. I will work with
each family if the schedule needs to be changed.

Monday - Make and bring in your "Super Star" book with pictures and
text to read to the class (like a simple scrapbook). Here are the pages
that I would like to be included in the book (but definately not limited
to): 1. Cover of your choice 2. My Family 3. When I Was a Baby 4. Vacations
are fun 5. My favorite Foods 6. I like to play! 7. My favorite birthday
party. Please use copy paper or constuction paper to make your book. I
usually would laminate each book to preserve it for the class to enjoy, but
because of proration, I will not be able to do that this year. If you have
access to a laminator, that will help to preserve your book... or simply
putting your work of art in page protectors may do the trick.
Tuesday - Bring in an item for "Show and Tell"
Wednesday - Lunch with family and friends. Bring in as many guests as
you would like to eat lunch and share in the star's day. After lunch, your
gang will be invited to stay and one special member of "the gang" will honor
us by reading a favorite book from home.
Thursday - Bring in a favorite song on CD for us to dance around and
act silly to. Please be selective about the lyrics.
Fridy - Bring in a favorite snack to share with the class and a simple
treat for your friends. The two stars for the week can get together and one
bring drinks and one bring food. Please try to keep our snacks on the
healthy side. (Treat suggestions: pencils, stickers, small party favors,
packs of sugar free gum...)

Let's work together to make it a week to remember!
