Dear Parents,
We're off to a great start. The boys and girls are learning school
rules, classroom procedures and daily transitions. Our only skills that
will be graded for the first six weeks of school reflect social and
emotional skills that are the vital heartbeat of our day.
Our new reading series is off to a fast start and we are working through
ways to be more efficient with our small group time. In effort to try to
make our literacy time more meaningful and productive, I have implemented a
new reward system. Everyone will begin the week with the letters t-r-e-a-t
by their name. When a poor choice is made, I will ask the student to turn
over a letter. (This will also include hallway, lunchroom and bathroom
behavior.) Treats will be given on Friday to all students who have 1 letter
or more showing by their name.
Our snackroom will offer Blue Bell ice cream cups on Fridays. It is
the usual snack price of $.50. Chocolate, vanilla and rainbow sherbert are
the delicious choices.
Please continue to wear transportation tags until August 22nd.
Normal dismissal schedule will begin Monday, August 18th. Car riders
will be dismissed at 2:45pm.
Thanks so much for having your children so well prepared for each day.
They are adjusting well to a full day of school and continue to have smiles
on their faces eventhough I know they are exhausted!
Don't forget brown, orange and purple days next week!
Love to you all,
Ms. Connie
