
Here is what will be going on in our classroom for the month of November…
LANGUAGE ARTS
We will be working on:
•letters of the alphabet. Our letters for this month are: Cc, Kk, and Ii
•high-frequency words. Our words for this month are: we, my, like, he, for
•identifying the sound at the end of a word.
•producing rhyming words.
•sequencing events.
•blending sounds together to make words. Here is a list of words we have
been working on sounding out (map, at, sap, mat, am, sat, Sam, Pam).
•Identifying letters, words, and sentences in a text. Using left to right
progression.
MATH
•Continue to review numbers 0 to 20 at home.
•October 12th-November 6th—Numbers 11 to 20 and counting 0 to 30.
•November 9th-November 20th—Geometry. We will work on identifying:
*two-dimensional (plane) shape (rectangle, square, circle, triangle
rhombus, hexagon, and trapezoid)
*three-dimensional shapes (solid) figures (sphere, cone, cylinder, and
cone)
DATES TO REMEMBER
•Tuesday, November 3rd—Walking field trip to the police department and park
•Wednesday, November 11th—Veterans Day (No School)
•Thursday, November 19th —Thanksgiving POW-WOW at 12:30pm in our classroom.
Each child will need a plain white t-shirt. Please send a plain white t-shirt
to school by Friday, November 6th.
•November 23rd-November 27th—No school, Thanksgiving Holidays
•Monday, November 30th—Return to school from Thanksgiving Holidays.
•Thursday, December 3rd—Christmas Program at 6:30pm in the gym. We will not
decorate shirts. Students are encouraged to wear a Christmas sweatshirt or
Christmas colors.
REMINDER!
Don’t forget to read to your child EVERY night!!! Write the title of the
book(s) on the reading calendar inside of your child’s homework folder.
