Fun with Food from A to Z Here are some fun snacks and recipes you can enjoy with your child! A Ants on a Log Spread icing or peanut butter on a pretzel rod. Place raisins or chocolate chips on top (These are the ants!) B Biscuits Make homemade biscuits or use frozen biscuits. C Make Cookies D Donut Make donuts or donut holes (You can use frozen biscuits, and sprinkle with powder sugar.) E Eggs Read Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. Make scrambled eggs and add some green food coloring to them as they cook. F Fruit Make a fruit salad with different types of fruit. (idea: sort the fruit!) G Grapes Try different types of grapes and compare the taste. H Happy Face Sandwich Slice an apple into 1/2 inch slices. Spread peanut butter on a slice of bread. Add raisins for the eyes and nose and apple slices for the mouth and eye brows. I Ice Cream Make ice cream sundaes. J Juice on a Stick Poor some juice into ice trays or small cups. Place a Popsicle stick into the juice and freeze. K Kangaroo Pockets Cut pita bread in half and separate to make a pocket. Put cheese and ham in the pocket. Spray the outside of the pocket with spray butter. Toast in the oven. L Lemonade Make lemonade with real lemons. M Milk Shakes Make milk shakes (idea: add fruit) Make Muffins N Necklace Use cereal and yarn to make a necklace. (idea: make patterns!) O Octopus Slice a hot dog from the one end to the middle, creating legs (You will need eight legs). Boil the hot dog in water until the legs curl upward. Olive Eat black or green olives. P Pudding Make pudding. Q ***** R Rolls Make dinner rolls. S Smores Make Smores with chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers. T Traffic lights Use 1/4 of a graham cracker. Spread icing over the graham cracker. Place red, yellow, and green M&Ms in the order of a traffic light. U Umbrella Cookies Make sugar cookies. Cut the cookies in half. Place licorice or a fruit roll up at the bottom to make the handle of the umbrella. Decorate the cookie with icing and fruit. V Vegetable Pizza Spread pizza sauce on hamburger bun or pita. Sprinkle cheese over sauce. Add pepperoni grated vegetables on top. Toast in the oven. W Waffles Make waffles. X Make an X using pancake mix, biscuits, pretzels, or cookie dough Y Yogurt Eat frozen or regular yogurt. Add toppings like fruit, nuts, and granola.
