2009 Kiddie Camp Itinerary
Co-Sponsors: Arkansas School for the Blind (ASB) and
Arkansas Chapter of National Association of Parents of the Visually
Impaired (NAPVI)
Fall Camp
“Wee Pig Sooie”
Oct. 23-25
Friday, Oct. 23
4:30-6:00 Registration/unpack- Multi-purpose Room
Unpack in dorms (special arrangements can be made for
families that arrive later that evening.
4:30-6:30 Tailgating! Underwood Farms–Horses, wagons, hay
rides, music & pictures! Mr. Hill will be serving up some
hot dogs and hamburgers for our tailgating fun! Front lawn
6:30 Kick Off! Welcome by Mr. Hill and Ashley Carper – Shelli
Moore will introduce the two. ASB cafeteria
Saturday, Oct 24
8:00-9:00am Breakfast-ASB Cafeteria “Muffins for Moms” and
“Doughnuts for Dad”
9:00-11:00 Trolley Ride and a tour of The William J. Clinton
Presidential Center and Park (for whole family)
11:30-12:30 Lunch- Kiddos will go to babysitters after lunch
1:00- 2:30 Half Time Show! Parent Workshop: Eye Conditions
Teresa Doan- Explains common eye conditions-
Powerpoint presentation/ Dr. Kenneth Doan available
for questions and discussions pertaining to eye
conditions. Multi-purpose room
3:00- 3:30 Break!
3:30- 4:45 Winning Team! Lis Geoghegan and a panel of guests
with visual impairments will share their life stories
about challenges they faced and how they over came
these challenges to become successful adults.
5:15- 7:00 JumpZone and Parent Pizza Party for the whole family!
Bring Socks and see packet for driving directions!
Sunday, Oct. 25
8:00-9:00am- Breakfast-ASB Cafeteria “Muffins for Moms” and
“Doughnuts for Dad” (after breakfast, kids go to
babysitters.)
9:00- 10:00- Teamwork! Parents Right’s and the IEP Team-Sharon
Berry-Multi- Purpose Room. Know the rules of the game to
ensure your child is receiving an appropriate education!
10:15- 11:30- Practice and being prepared! Bette Parker is going to
share with parents ways to make books and early literacy
more interesting and fun for our little kiddos.
12:00-1:30 Touch Down-BBQ Lunch – Closing remarks by: ASB’s
Superintendent Mr. Hill, Elementary Principal Sharon Berry,
Camp Director Shelli Moore and AR NAPVI President
Ashley Carper – ASB’s Cafeteria
1:30- Departure
