KINDERGARTEN: Practice counting out objects. If your child cannot recognize
colors, please work with them at home (ex. - while reading a book or playing
with toys, ask your child to identify requested colors).
FIRST GRADE: Practice sight words in your child's folder.

HOME ACTIVITY IDEAS TO USE ANYTIME:
HANDWRITING:
For fun, let your child write their name, letters, numbers, or sight words in
pudding or shaving cream (for sensitive skin). Let him/her squirt a spray
bottle or squeeze a chip clip or put clothespins on the edges of paper to
strengthen finger muscles for writing.
READING:
Read daily. Read food labels, road signs, store and restaurant logos. Visit
the local library.
MATH:
Count small objects or add 2 groups of small objects found in your home: dry
beans, macaroni, sm. crackers, animal crackers, cereal, small toys, crayons,
etc.
