AN ESSAY CONTEST FOR NATIVE AMERICAN STUDENTS
The Holland & Knight Charitable Foundation, in association with the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian, announces the 2008 Young Native Writers Essay Contest. The writing contest is designated to inspire Native American high school students to research and elaborate on historic or contemporary issues affecting their community. It offers all- expense-paid trips to Washington, DC, and college scholarships to the top five winning essayists. The winning essayists will be accompanied to Washington, DC by the teachers who inspired their entries to the contest. Teachers will receive an all- expense-paid trip to Washington DC.
