STUDENT RULES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
MRS. HINKEL
PREP 9:25-10:35
In our society, all of us whether adult or teenager are expected to meet certain responsibilities. We also must expect negative consequences when we fail to meet these responsibilities. The best way to prevent problems is to be very sure that you know what is expected of you.
As a student, some of your responsibilities in this class are:
1. To behave in a manner that allows all members of the class to learn.
2. To be on time to class. If you are not in the classroom at the FIRST sound of the tardy bell, you will be considered tardy and will have to go to the tardy “sweep” room. If homework from the previous night is due and you are in tardy sweep, give it to the teacher there and you will receive full credit. However, if that homework is not turned in to that teacher, you will not be able to turn it in the next day. You will be able to make up the work you missed during that period but it is your responsibility to see me for those assignments (that means seeing me before you leave for the day). *If a test is being given that day you will take a DIFFERENT test (ESSAY). It will be the student's responsibility to see me and take the test. If you are presenting material on that day, turn in your material to the sweep teacher and you will be given credit for the assignment. However, the actual presentation part (where you stand and talk) on the rubric will be reduced because you were not actually in class to present.
If there is a proper pass from appropriate authorities then that student will be allowed in the class.
3. To pay attention to anyone who is talking to the class.
4. To finish any assignment given and hand it in on time.
5. To study at home: The amount of time needed will depend upon your abilities. Studying for a test should not be left until the night before the exam.
6. An assignment that is not turned in when it is called for is late. LATE WORK CAN BE TURNED IN THE NEXT DAY FOR HALF CREDIT.
7. Remember, the loss of your textbook or supplies is your responsibility. It is important for students to have their supplies in class everyday.
8. It is the students responsibility to take care of their textbook. If there are damages or is not returned to the instructor in the same condition it was handed out, then the student must pay for those damages.
9. It is the responsibility of the student to check with me to get all work missed in case of an absence (before or after class). Work missed is due the next class day. If you were absent of consecutive days, then you will have that amount of time to make up the work.
10.To stay in the classroom unless a true emergency forces you to request a hall pass.
11.To remain alert and awake. If you are sick tell the teacher. This means you do not sleep during class.
12.To be seated at your desk when the tardy bell rings and be prepared to stay.
13.To remain in your chair until dismissed by the teacher.
14.To use common sense and courtesy at all times.
15.Tutoring will be available on an appointment basis.
