I have lived in Lakeside since 1998. My family and I moved here from
Grabill, Indiana, which is a small town outside of Fort Wayne. However, I
am orginally from Michigan. I loved growing up in the midwest. I miss the
crisp fall days and picking fresh apples, but I don't miss the long winters
or the bugs!
I have 3 children who attend or have graduated from Blue Ridge. My oldest
daughter graduated in 2008 and now lives in the valley where she is attending
school. My son will be entering the 10th grade at the high school, and my
youngest daughter will be entering the 6th grade.
I enjoy gardening and spending time out-doors with my family. My husband
and son enjoy archery and hunting. While the girls and I enjoy art and
shopping!
This is my sixth full year teaching at Blue Ridge. I truly enjoy working
with my fellow teachers and the students. I graduated from Michigan State
University and received my certification from Northern Arizona University.
My mission for my classroom is to provide an environment where each student
can succeed. A classroom is a child's place of work. It needs to be a
secure and nurturing place. The students will support eachother and help
each other reach their goals. I have high expectations for my students and
myself. We will all work hard to achieve our goals.
The success of a student depends upon parent support, teacher support, and
the child's personal desire to learn. I hope to help students realize that
they can accomplish whatever they set their mind to!
