Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday. No homework will be sent home
on Fridays. The homework will consist of Reading and Math. Here is what to
expect...
Reading: At least one book must be read each night at home. The student
will select one book to read from their leveled book bin to take home to
practice their fluency (expression, phrasing and words per minute). A
family member needs to time how many words per minute (WPM) they can read
and mark it on the Reading Log. The student is expected to read the same
book for five days, trying to increase the WPM. Once the book log is
completed, the student can turn it in for a prize from the Treasure Bus!
Math: One page of math homework from the MacRo workbook will be assigned
each night. The page must be completed, correct, and signed by the parent.
At the end of the month, if the MacRo workbork is turned in on time and each
page is completed, correct and signed by the parent, the student will
recieve a prize!
