HOW TO SURVIVE YOUR FIRST FOURTH GRADE REPORT CARD!
Welcome to the real world of grades!
As your student struggles with the responsibility factor:
Remembering to do their homework
Remembering to bring in their homework on time
Studying their spelling words
Learning their times tables
Monthly book reports
Behaving properly in classand the list goes on and on.
We as teachers have the nerve to fill out a report card on your
student and then conference with you!
Seriously, this can be an exciting and positive time for both parents
and students! Our card assesses many things, and I have
added a number percentage to let you know exactly where your student
is in regards to key subjects.
First, you must remember that I do not give grades; your student
earned their grades. I keep a comprehensive list of the student
grades on my computer and in my grade book. I average the grades to
get their percentage.
Finally, I would like for you to bring your student to the conference
with you. We will meet for 20 minutes and go over their grades. We
will also discuss what we can do to improve the learning process.
Please be prompt.
