The most important homework assignment is the 20 minutes of reading that
your child is to participate in each night to improve reading ability. This
is especially important in kindergarten so your child developes a sense of
the value of reading.
Also, as we are working on using more 3 and 4 letter words in short
sentences and creating words from the sounds so children can read. Do all
you can to encourage your child to attempt to read. Ask them to sound out a
word and ask them to think about what word might "fit" there.
Please encourage practice.
I am sending home some packets of work for the students to do over the break
as they are the most vulnerable. They are not due until end of break.
