Welcome to the 6th grade. This year, your child will be utilizing two different text: Connected Mathematics (CMP) and Glencoe (MAC). The CMP books are small, light-weight, and three-hold punch so that it can be easily carried in the students' notebooks. The Glencoe text books, will stay mainly in the classroom when in use. If you would you like to check out a Glencoe book to be used as a resource please contact me. When we are working out of the CMP books, your child will be expected to maintain a notebook and hold on to his/her work for the duration of the specific unit. Homework and/or completing assignments is essential to mastering the skill acquired. Helping your child at home with the essential skills will benefit your child greatly in school. We are just finishing up with our Data unit and will focus a few weeks on multiplying dividing, adding, and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers.
