This year the 5th grade teachers are going to try something a little different. The 2 1/2 - 3 inch binder will be carried by your child each day. It is critical that your child maintains this binder in an acceptable manner. Papers need to be placed in the correct section for ease of finding at a later date. Please help your child organize their binder nightly. This will not allow for them to be more successful in the classroom, but for you to have a chance to see what's been going on in class. Each day your child is expected to have a COMPLETE pencil pouch which will travel from class to class and contain the following: 2 highlighters of different colors 1 pencil sharpener with a holder for shavings 2 or 3 red pens for marking papers 1 blue or black pen for writing final copies 5 or 6 sharpened #2 pencils 1 larger eraser Supplies needed for various classes: *2 boxes of tissues *4 packages of lined notebook paper (paper will be placed in notebook and collected by teacher for later use) *1 roll of paper towels for science *4 packages of lined index cards physical education shirt (to be purchased at school) 1 2-subject spiral notebook 5 pocket folders, one for each class (these can be any design) 1 2 1/2 - 3 inch binder for all subjects. Please nothing smaller since all subjects will be using this. 10 dividers for the binder. Please DO NOT label or open packages.
